‘The Tree & The Water OdV’ was created in 2018 through a profound love and passion for nature restoration, permaculture, sustainability and holistic living.
It is a non-profit, voluntary association conceived to protect the natural ecosystems and to explore more sustainable ways of living in harmony with nature.
In August 2018 the founders (Sara & Nicco) have acquired for the Association 7 hectares of land in the Italian Apennine mountains, near the town of Varsi, in the province of Parma. The lands are partly forest and partly fields and the headquarter of the Association is nestled in an ancient hamlet with a remarkable view over the valley (Valle del Ceno).
The current vision is to acquire more neighbouring lands to create a Nature Sanctuary where wildlife and plants can thrive without the risk of exploitation of their natural habitats.
Through the commitment and dedication of the members of the Association and the volunteers that resonate with this vision, the aim is to host educational and volunteering programmes, where the community can gather and learn about the objectives of the Association. Together it is possible to create spaces where abundance meets sustainable growth, where education means creativity and fun, and where fulfilment comes from gifting, caring, sharing and trusting.
At present the Association is focusing on creating a Food Forest on one of the lands. Other projects include building a greenhouse, a camping area, basic facilities, wildlife observatories, another Food Forest etc.
